Sounds good to me! The girls at Boho share my love of thrift store shopping, eco-friendly shoes, and green high fashion. I think this will be a match made in eco-heaven.

Eco Citizen is a boutique that sells fashionable and eco-friendly clothing, like the Edun dress to the left.

I am always looking to find eco friendly alternatives to great style. I love this Edun dress because it's got flirty sleeves and a cute print. Always a plus by me!

The best part about Eco Citizen is that it's conveniently located here in San Francisco (though you can order their clothing online as well) at 1488 Vallejo St. The store is open from 11am-7pm Monday through Saturday, and from 12-6pm on Sundays.

Don't you hate it when your cell phone dies while you're out of the house, and you're expecting some major calls but your charger is all the way back at your apartment? These Noon bags are just the thing you need. They are absolutely fantastic. They say if you buy a really well-made piece of clothing, you can wear it forever. In other words, it sustains. They also say that trends fade but style is eternal. The concept of lastingness, foreverness, is something that reoccurs in fashion as an ideological point of reference, and on that note - nothing lasts forever quite like the earth. Many designers are starting to realize the importance of environmentally sound production, like Stella McCartney, one of the first to start making clothes that are organic, sustainable, and ethical. She teamed up with LeSportSac to produce a line of environmentally-friendly bags and luggage (made of 100% recycled polyester), and you can look at them here.

I read, however, an article in the Wall Street Journal lately that really got me thinking. How do we know how ecologically friendly our clothes are? Just because something marks itself as eco-friendly, is it? For instance, many green-leaning designers use bamboo fabric because bamboo, unlike cotton, uses no pesticides and little water to grow. However, it also takes a ton of chemicals to turn stiff bamboo into fibers soft enough to be worn, and the chemical runoff is bad for the environment to say the least.

One thing is for sure, the eco-friendly fashion craze is really taking off, and it's definitely possible to leave a much smaller ecological footprint by making informed decisions. But it's also equally important to keep educating ourselves about the alternatives out there. I used to think bamboo fabric was great, but now I'm not so sure.
