Yves St Laurent, a seminal designer of the 20th century, died last night after struggling with brain cancer for the last year. St Laurent was a visionary, who used menswear techniques in his designs for the female body - instantly showing how pants and tuxedos and safari jackets could be as chic and feminine as a cocktail dress.

This Forever 21 dress is a perfect example of what a relevant impact YSL still has on mainstream fashion (Forever 21 is ripping off his designs... 45 years later!!!!). He was a creative genius, and will be sorely missed.
RIP Yves!
