Karl Lagerfeld's Guide to Life is a hilarious blog written in the voice of "Fake Karl Lagerfeld," a man modeled after my very own favorite fashion couturier. While he pokes fun at the real KL, it's all in good fun and very tongue-in-cheek. The faux raconteur drops some gems like,
"God, I hate the smell of food. It's almost as bad as eating it. So I'm
not really eating, but you know what I mean. Other people are. Well.
Other people, being one person. And he's fat, hmm?"Fake Karl is now being interviewed for fashion blogs like The Fashion Time. Maybe I can arrange an interview with Fake Karl for Style Bay Area?
Some highlights of the FT interview:
The Karl hair is in the air, it is part of the very fabric of fashion. One does not "get" Karl hair, one obtains it from being fashion.
I keep personal life personal and private life private, hmmm? When you are as busy as me- work is sex. Oh, the chiffon.
The Prada women...she's like the god of the homeless. Yohji Yamamoto...the god of the rain. Tom Ford...the god of plucked eyebrows. Oh, most of the designers are gods. Even Yves is a kind of god. But it doesn't mean you have to worship them, hmm? Look at the churches of Chanel- and then the cold, cold churches of Gucci.
